Reactive power compensation 0,4-10 kV

UKRM and KRM are widely used in industry at enterprises where electrical equipment with inductive load is operated. Electric motors, transformers and other similar devices negatively affect the power supply system, causing overheating of the conductors, reducing their ability to transmit the active component of electrical power. All this, in the end, leads to an additional load on the operating equipment and increases the likelihood of premature failure.

Reactive power compensation devices maintain the power factor at a certain level, as a result of which the efficiency of the power supply system increases without its reconstruction.

The use of condenser installations in the power supply system can significantly reduce the cost of paying for electricity by reducing the payment of the reactive component of electric power.

Compensation options

  • Individual. Capacitor installations are connected directly to the place where reactive power appears. This makes it possible to avoid a negative impact on the conductors that supply electricity to electrical installations.

  • Group. Capacitors are installed in the nodal elements of the power supply system and serve several electrical consumers. At the same time, the main electrical line is unloaded, which supplies power to several units of industrial equipment.

  • Centralized. The compensation unit serves the entire enterprise at once. The power regulator puts into operation the required number of capacitors to compensate for the power produced, depending on the amount of equipment in operation. This method is effective in power grids with an unknown load in advance.

The effect of using compensation units:

  • Load on the transformers of the electrical network of the facility is reduced;

  • It becomes possible to use smaller cables in the power supply system without the risk of melting the insulation due to overheating of the conductive core.;

  • Possibility of connecting additional consumers due to the unloading of existing transformers and conductors;

  • The causes of voltage drawdown on extended power transmission lines are eliminated.

  • The efficiency of generators installed on ships or autonomous production facilities increases;

  • Overvoltage in the network is eliminated by automatically adjusting the power factor;

  • Saving money when paying for electricity, due to the elimination of the reactive component of power from the network by condenser installations.

Currently, well—known manufacturers of reactive power compensation units are operating in the market of electrical equipment: Legrand, Schneider Elektric, ABB, Siemens. Domestic actively developing manufacturers are also represented «Bryansk Electrotechnical Plant», «Кhomovelectro», «Megavar»

Bryansk Electrotechnical Plant LLC Since 2008, it has been manufacturing a wide range of reactive power compensation units of the VARNET series for voltages of 0.4; 6; 10 kV.

The type and configuration of reactive power compensation units can be discussed individually with the customer. It is possible to visit specialists to measure the existing parameters of the electric power quality indicators of the consumer's network, followed by recommendations for their adjustment.
