Complete switchgear (CRU) of medium voltage, designed for receiving and distributing electrical energy of three-phase alternating current of the same voltage class, in distribution and industrial electrical networks.

Switchgear is an electrical installation that consists of one or more typical blocks — CRU cells — which are assembled by trained personnel in factory conditions. All components of the CRU cell are placed in a CRU cabinet made of galvanized or painted steel elements, which ensures safe operation of the product and protection of personnel from electric shock.

A type of CRU is CSR — prefabricated single-sided service cameras. In accordance with the requirements of GOST 14693-90, the CRU cells are designed in such a way as to localize an emergency situation with an arc closure in the compartment. CSR cameras may not meet this requirement.

• CSR-393 — is used for the organization of temporary power supply to the sites of construction enterprises and for construction work;

• CSR-298 — used for installation in switchgear, withstand current up to 1600 A. The design has compact dimensions for cells with air insulation, as well as segregated compartments.

• CSR-298RU —  is a type of cameras in which the switch is located on the cassette pull—out element. With its help, fast and safe switching is performed. The pull-out design ensures prompt replacement of the switch.

The CRU cells are divided into two types according to the method of execution:

• Internal — designed for installation in enclosed spaces, where a normal microclimate is created for the functioning of electrical devices;

• Outdoor (KRUN) — installed outdoors, the housing has protection elements to prevent precipitation from getting inside, as well as heating systems to ensure the operation of KRUN elements in the cold season.

Currently, the Bryansk PBX produces retro CRU series (K-XIIK-XXVI), KM-1, as well as modern models of the R12 series with a switch on a cassette pull-out element (KVE).

The CRU cells can be equipped with both vacuum and gas switches. Switches of domestic production of Tavrida Electric Group, Radius Automation Group, Rim Group are in great demand. The most popular switches of imported production are vacuum and gas-operated switches manufactured by Schneider Electric Group and ABB Group.
